What lens would be better to do pictures of children with? Got a really nice picture of my 2.5 year old the other day. I'm due with another in october. So I wanted something better then the 18-55mm. I have the Canon T5I.

thoughts on the 55-250mm IS STM lens. It is a canon lens.

All future pictures will be taken with a DSLR. I got my first DSLR and i am so excited to learn how to use it. Any tips would be wonderful. 

I have been using my Nikon L330 bridge camera. I did have a nikon D3200 for like a week. I had got that camera threw a leasing company where we got our couch. They usually are pretty good but the manager/owner did not know anything about DSLR's so he had forced the lens on causing the aperture motor piece. I'm not sure if that is what that part is actually called but it was bent and not working. So when i would change the aperture on the camera it didn't actually change. so the shutter was malfunctioning because of this. So i returned it as soon as I could. I made a decision a few weeks ago to go the source which is radio shack in the USA. I got them to order a Canon rebel T5i since it was on sale. I did put it on layaway so i wouldn't have to save first i could just make payments on it. I will have it January and i am so excited to get it since it is my dream camera. I got the one that comes with the 18-55mm is stm kit lens. Having a MUCH better camera is going to encourage me to take more pictures and i can't wait!! :]:]
